This summer, the biggest star in combat sports will travel to London, England, to take on his first undefeated opponent in seven years as Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell collides with 16-0-1 “Sugar” Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC 85: LIDDELL vs. EVANS at the O2 Arena on Saturday, June 7.
Chuck showed alot of heart in his last fight against Wanderlei Silva that he’s regained the fire he needs to win back the UFC Light Heavyweight title, But to earn that opportunity he now has to do what no one else has been able to do - and that’s defeat Rashad Evans.
Chuck was supposed to fight Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 85 but before the ink was even dry on the contract, Rua hurt his knee and was out.
Since winning Season 2 of The Ultimate Fighter Evans, 28, has ripped his way to the top of the 205lbs rankings. In 2007, he announced his arrived as a top contender for the UFC title with a one-kick knockout of Sean Salmon, followed by a controversial draw with Tito Ortiz and then a career-best victory over the previously undefeated Michael Bisping.
Kampmann officially back. The Dutch striker hasn’t fought in over a year after tearing his ACL and MCL while training for a fight at UFC 72. Kampmann last saw action at UFC 68 when he submitted Andrew McFedries with a triangle choke.
Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites at UFC 85
The two were scheduled to meet at UFC 81, but Leites was forced to dropout after suffering a hand injury while training for the fight. MMA veteran Jeremy Horn replaced Leites with only a few days notice, but was quickly submitted by Marquardt with a sick guillotine choke early in the second round.
Rivera will step back in the cage after his knocking out TUF veteran Kendall Grove at UFC 80.
Also an excellent bout between Jason Lambert and Banha Cane as Adam Morgan. Lambert will be an excellent matchup for him and I expect it to go much like Lambert’s fight with Gouveia where Lambert will control the action completely but be at risk of being knocked out in any standup exchange.

Look for UFC 85 to be marketed heavily with a 10 p.m. ET PPV start time, which will be on tape delay, and the LIVE broadcast to be available earlier on Saturday afternoon.
