UFC 86: Jackson vs. Griffin is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on July 5, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC 86 takes place July 5th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Event Center and features a light heavyweight championship main event between The Ultimate Fighter 7 coaches Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, the reigning 205-pound champ, and top-contender Forrest Griffin. Additional bouts for the pay-per-view event include Joe Steveson vs. Gleison Tibau, Frank Mir vs. Justin McCully, Patrick Cote vs. Ricardo Almeida, and Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle.
With an anticipated Rampage fight, UFC 86 will have lots of exciting betting action. The main event includes Quinton Jackson aka “Rampage” vs Forrest Griffin. It will be great to bet on how well Rampage does after making history as the first to hold both Pride and UFC light heavyweight belts.
Also, the Former heavyweight champion Frank Mir (11-3) will tangle with Justin McCully (8-3-2) at UFC 86, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Frank Mir is fresh of a big submission win over Brock Lesnar at UFC 81: “Breaking Point” in February. This marks Mir’s second consecutive win (other win against Antoni Hardonk at UFC 74: “Respect”). Last time Mir lost was at UFC 65: “Bad Intentions” to Brandon Vera via TKO(Strikes) in November 2006.
McCully will be coming off a year-long layoff after defeating Antoni Hardonk via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 9 back in April 2007.
Joe Stevenson (28-8) will look to get back in the 155-pound title hunt when he takes on Gleison Tibau (15-5) at UFC 86 on July 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joe Stevenson is coming off a very rough submission loss to arguably the top mixed martial artist in the game, that being BJ Penn. Tibau is coming off a loss as well but to top lightweight Tyson Griffin at UFC 81. It will be interesting to see how both react to tough losses.
