For the first time in history a World Series of Poker championship event will be held outside of the United States.  Starting September 6th the best poker players in the world will emerge on London for their chance to make history.  Among the names of stars gearing up for their opportunity is the “Poker Brat” himself Phil Hellmuth.  Hellmuth, who holds the World Series record with 11 bracelets said, “"I'm going to London to make history again by winning the first WSOP bracelet ever awarded outside of Las Vegas.

Hellmuth isn’t the only legend that has shown great excitement.  In fact, perhaps the biggest legend of them all, Doyle Brunson has stated, "I'm definitely going [...] I was at the first one here and I want to be at the first one there."  Dozens of other players have also confirmed they will be there, including, but not limited to, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, and Doyle’s son Todd Brunson.

The event will kick-off with a 2500 hundred dollar buy-in into a HORSE event.  HORSE events are generally considered the standard when it comes to determining the best players in the world.  Many of the top pros will vouch for this because the number of participants in this event are smaller than other events, but usually include all players you have heard of.  It’s also been said that these same pros generally give more respect to the winner of the tournament then they do the big one, not that they wouldn’t want to win that one.

The second of the three events will be a 5000 hundred dollar buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament.  This event will take course over a series of two days and will begin September 8th.  This event will probably also will be a field of star players. Pot-limit Omaha has been picking up steam in the world of poker lately.  Stars believe that if you can win a Pot-limit Omaha tournament you can be in contention for any tournament.

Finally, the 10,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Main Event will begin September 10th, and take place over six action packed days.  The first two events will be played at the newly opened Empire Casino in Leicester Square.  However, the expected entrants of the main event are expected to be so big that the first three days of the tournament will be split up in three casinos.  The other two casinos that will be hosting the event besides the Empire are The Sportsman and Fifty.
